For 9.5 years, Korea was my home and my classroom — teaching in schools, institutes, and kindergartens. I saw capable, motivated learners held back not by knowledge, but by pronunciation habits and confidence gaps.

I saw capable, motivated learners held back not by knowledge, but by pronunciation habits and confidence gaps. Many had studied English for years — survived the pressure of 수능 culture (CSAT: college scholastic ability test) , filled notebooks, passed tests — and still froze the moment a real conversation began.
Beyond the classroom, I performed as a pole artist and fitness model — appearing in music videos for 박재범 (Jay Park) and 현아 (Hyuna), and modeling for cutting edge brands like 리을 (Rieul) — in the heart of Korean entertainment. That world demanded discipline, presence and performance under pressure — which showed me firsthand that confidence is cultivated, not innate. It also gave me a broader, richer understanding of Korean life and culture that most English teachers never access.
Combined with a B.A. in Psychology, these experiences shaped a coaching approach grounded in how real confidence — and real fluency — actually develops.
